ZF Automatic Gearbox Servicing
Although many manufacturers claim the ZF Gearbox’s are “sealed for life”, they are not and are a serviceable component of the vehicle.
The ZF 8HP and 6HP gearboxes fitted to Jaguar vehicles incorporate a replaceable Sump/Filter unit.
The recommended replacement interval for these according to ZF is around 80,000 miles.
We personally recommend they be done sooner than this if possible, as by 80k miles the oil is quite dirty.
